On Wednesday, members of the North Hills Middle School Diversity Club led a meaningful activity to promote unity and inclusion as part of the district's "Do No Harm" initiative. During all three lunch periods, students participated in a collaborative thumbprint activity, where they used paint to leave their unique thumbprint on one of three hearts in a large banner displaying the words "DO NO HARM."

The activity aimed to highlight the diversity within the school while emphasizing the importance of coming together. The thumbprints, symbolic of the individuality of each student, represented the message that by embracing differences, the school community can foster unity and create a more inclusive, caring environment.

The banner featured three hearts, one for each grade level, and once completed, it was proudly displayed in the school cafeteria.

The North Hills Middle School Diversity Club, which is open to all students in grades 6-8, is sponsored by LaMont Lyons, the district's director of student and community engagement. The club experienced significant growth following Wednesday’s activity, more than doubling its size to over 40 members.

Students interested in joining the Diversity Club or learning more are encouraged to look for flyers around the school hallways and scan the QR code using their district iPads.
