NHMS History Club looking to expand Hall of Honor for Veterans Day 2025

Veterans Hall of Honor
Heather Pelat

The North Hills Middle School History Club is once again looking to honor local military veterans this Veterans Day, expanding the Hall of Honor they first created in 2024.

The Hall of Honor features an image and brief biography of graduates of either North Hills High School or the former West View High School who have served in the United States military.

This display will again be showcased inside the middle school’s main entrance throughout November, giving students, staff, and visitors the opportunity to learn about and reflect on the service and sacrifices of our community’s heroes.

The club is asking community members to share information about themselves or a family member who is a North Hills or West View High School graduate and has served or is currently serving in the military. Posthumous submissions are also welcome.

If you submitted information last year, the History Club will continue to proudly display your veteran’s framed tribute; there is no need to re-submit.

Those who wish to add a new name to the Hall of Honor can do so by completing this online form.

Submissions will be added to the display created last year. The deadline for submissions is October 27, 2025.

Questions can be directed to eighth-grade social studies teacher Joe Welch at welchj@nhsd.net.

Last year, the middle school also hosted a panel discussion with local veterans as part of its’ Veterans Day celebration. This event, held in the middle school LGI room, will now be a biennial event and next take place in 2026.
