North Hills School District will host a Do No Harm Student Conference on Monday, November 2, at North Hills High School and North Hills Middle School, welcoming approximately 130 students and educators from school districts across the Pittsburgh region for a day dedicated to leadership, kindness, empathy, inclusion, and respect.

The student-led conference is being organized by the North Hills High School Diversity Club, Student Athlete Leadership Team (SALT), and peer mentors as part of the district's Do No Harm initiative. Introduced in 2024, the initiative encourages students to make a positive impact through their actions, words, and thoughts while fostering a school community where every student feels accepted, appreciated, acknowledged, and valued.

The regional conference builds on the success of North Hills' first-ever Do No Harm Student Conference, held in February for students in grades 7-12. Approximately 50 students participated in meaningful discussions and interactive training focused on empathy, leadership, and building safer, more inclusive school communities. The inaugural event inspired student leaders to expand the experience and invite neighboring school districts to join the conversation this fall.

To help provide a meaningful experience for attendees, North Hills is seeking support from local businesses and community organizations through sponsorships and in-kind donations. Opportunities include financial contributions, food and beverage donations, gift cards, student giveaways, conference materials, and other items or services that enhance the event.

Sponsors will be recognized throughout the conference on event signage, conference materials, district social media, and during the conference program, demonstrating their commitment to supporting student leadership and strengthening our community.

Businesses and organizations interested in becoming a sponsor or learning more about partnership opportunities are encouraged to contact LaMont Lyons, Director of Student and Community Engagement, at llyons@nhsd.net or 412-318-1404.

By partnering with North Hills, community organizations can help inspire the next generation of leaders and ensure this impactful event leaves a lasting impression on students throughout the region.
