Pittsburgh Riverhounds visit NHMS

North Hills Middle School had an exciting day on Monday, March 16, with a special visit from the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, made possible through the Strong as Steel rewards program, Student Council, and the Physical Education Department.

Matt Meyers, the Riverhounds Summer Camps Director and a current Riverhounds Development Academy (RDA) coach, worked with students throughout the day. He led a coaching session for the boys and girls middle school soccer teams during fourth and fifth periods, then stepped in as a guest physical education teacher during the afternoon.

Students also had the chance to meet Amo, the Riverhounds’ mascot, who brought plenty of energy to the gym and made appearances during sixth and seventh grade lunches.

To top it off, the team’s USL Championship Trophy was on display, giving students the opportunity to see it up close.

The visit offered a meaningful blend of athletics, school spirit and student engagement, creating a memorable experience for all involved.
