NHMS restructuring sixth grade teams, Name suggestions needed

Starting in the 2025-26 school year, North Hills Middle School will restructure sixth grade teacher teams from four teams to three. The change will provide sixth graders with a more traditional middle school experience and mirror the three-team structure in seventh and eighth grades.

In our current model, there are four sixth grade teams with for teachers each. Each teacher teaches two subjects and students don’t always have all teachers or all classes with teammates. The change will provide more consistency and connection. There will be six teachers on a team moving forward.

As we make the transition, we are looking for three new sixth grade team names and we need your help! Submit your ideas via this form by May 1.

Names should all be connected by a common theme. For example, if the theme is "Shapes," the teams could be Team Triangle, Team Circle and Team Square

Our current fifth graders will vote for their favorites during their elementary school’s move up-day in May. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Fifth Grade Move-Up Days will be held as follows:

• Monday, May 5 - Highcliff
• Tuesday, May 6 - McIntyre
• Wednesday, May 7 - West View
• Thursday, May 8 - Ross
