Strong as Steel: NHMS incentivizes positive decision-making with SWPBIS
North Hills Middle School has adopted a School-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (SWPBIS) system this school year to promote positive behavior and decision making.
Through middle school’s SWBIS program, purposely named “Strong as Steel,” students are encouraged to take ownership, demonstrate respect and choose safety in order to create a positive and compassionate learning environment.
By doing these things, students can earn Champyinz Tickets which can be returned and put into a weekly, monthly, and school-wide raffles for additional independent, group and school-wide prizes and recognitions such as gift cards, tickets to school dances or football games, athletic gear, and/or possibly assembly/outdoor time!
The goal is to recognize and incentivize positive decision-making throughout middle school and beyond.
Students learned about the new program during grade-level Champyinz Days the first week of school which included short assemblies, team building exercises and other events.
