North Hills 6th graders take on math challenge, Earn trip to Topgolf
Sixth graders at North Hills Middle School recently put their math skills to the test in a friendly competition with students from North Allegheny and West Mifflin. The challenge was through Study Island, an app that helps students review key concepts through fun games and activities. As they complete challenges, students earn "blue ribbons" to track their progress.
The competition ran from March 31 to April 3, and the goal was simple: earn as many blue ribbons as possible in four days. The school with the highest average number of ribbons per student would take the win.
North Hills students showed up in a big way, earning a total of 11,367 blue ribbons! Leading the charge was Wilfried Yameogo, who racked up an impressive 212 ribbons, more than anyone else. He was also the only student to complete all six pathways in the challenge.
As a reward for their hard work, Wilfried and the top 29 finishers from North Hills got to celebrate with a fun trip to Topgolf on Wednesday, May 14.
