Strong as Steel
North Hills Middle School uses a School-wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (SWPBIS) system to promote positive behavior and decision making. Through the program, named “Strong as Steel,” students are encouraged to take ownership, demonstrate respect and choose safety in order to create a positive and compassionate learning environment. By doing these things, students can earn Champyinz tickets which can be used to win prizes and school-wide rewards.
NHMS is hosting a school-wide assembly on Friday, August 30, to kick off the school's positive behavior system for the 2024-25 school year.
North Hills Middle School students were rewarded for being as Strong as Steel with a trip to the Pittsburgh Pirates game for Pirates Educators' Day on April 8.
